this weekend >> final paving on Highway 7 in the VMC area

October 19, 2017

With last weekend’s prep work complete and a good weather forecast ahead, final paving is scheduled for this weekend in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. To accommodate this work, Highway 7 will be fully closed from just east of Edgeley Boulevard/Interchange Way to just west of Jane Street. Please see below for further details.

work dates*: Friday, Oct. 20 to Monday, Oct. 23
work hours*: 8pm Friday to 6am Monday [full closure]

what you need to know:

  • During paving Highway 7 will be fully closed from just east of Edgeley to just west of Jane.
  • Detour signs will be in place.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be onsite to help direct traffic.
  • Efforts have been made to keep sidewalks open wherever possible. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signage will be onsite to help guide pedestrians.
  • Transit will continue service using the detour. If a bus stop is temporarily relocated, directional signs to the nearest bus stop will be in place.
  • Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible. Check the overnight and paving work pages at vivanext.com or twitter.com/vivanext for last-minute updates.
