Wednesday >> hydro pole installation on Bathurst Street continues

August 15, 2017

Hello,

As hydro pole installations on Bathurst Street continue to progress, tomorrow, there will be 4 hydro poles installed on Bathurst St. between Summeridge Drive and just south of the westbound Highway 407 on-ramp. See below for more details.

work dates*: Wednesday, August 16
work hours*: 8am–4pm

  • Tomorrow, crews will install 4 poles between Summeridge Dr. and just south of the westbound Highway 407 on ramp.
  • To accommodate the installation of hydro poles on Bathurst, the left-turn lane on the Highway 7 connector road will be closed.
  • Entry to the westbound Highway 407 ramp from southbound Bathurst will also be closed for the duration of this work.
  • As each new pole is hoisted and placed on its foundation, traffic on Bathurst will be stopped in both directions for up to 10-15 minutes at a time.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be on site to direct traffic as required.
  • Check out this video [of the vivaNext project on Yonge Street] for a look at how it's done.
  • Over the next several weeks, crews will be working on framing the poles and stringing the lines in this area. To accommodate this work, short-term curb lane closures may be required.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible. Check twitter.com/vivanext for last-minute updates.

We understand that construction can be disruptive and we thank you in advance for your patience during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
