July 31, 2017

Hello,

Crews will be installing storm sewers on the south side of Centre Street between New Westminster Drive and Bathurst Street for approximately one month. This work will require rolling, short-term closures of the eastbound curb lane. In addition, there will be lane closures on Yonge Street for bridge work on the Highway 7 overpass tomorrow and Wednesday. Please see below for further details.

storm sewer work on Centre Street:

work dates*: Tuesday, August 1 for approximately one month
work hours*: 9:30am–3:30pm

  • Now that the traffic shift is complete, storm sewer installations can begin on Centre St.
  • To accommodate this work, there will be short-term lane closures of the eastbound curb lane on Centre from New Westminster to Bathurst.
  • Sidewalks and bus stops will remain open wherever possible. If a sidewalk or bus stop is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk or bus stop.

bridge work on Highway 7 at Yonge Street:

  • There may be single lane closures on these days from 3:30 to 5:30 to complete the operation.
  • Sidewalks and bus stops will remain open wherever possible.
  • Where a sidewalk or bus stop is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk or bus stop.

general impacts:

  • Due to the nature of this work, at times, there will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible. Check twitter.com/vivanext for last-minute updates.

We understand that construction can be disruptive and we thank you in advance for your patience during this time. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
