tomorrow >>> milling and re-paving on Highway 7 and Bathurst

June 10, 2020

As part of the project's deficiency and warranty work to make sure that the end product meets the requirements we set out to build, starting tomorrow morning, crews will be milling and re-paving asphalt deficiency areas on Highway 7 between the Highway 7-Bathurst and Highway 7-Yonge Connecting Roads, and then on Bathurst Street. Please see below for more details.

what you need to know:

work dates*: Thursday, June 11
work hours*: 7am–7pm

  • First crews will mill away the old asphalt in deficiency areas, and then complete the repaving activities.
  • To accommodate this work, traffic will be reduced to one lane around the work areas.
  • Work will occur in the following areas in this sequence:
    • Eastbound Highway 7
    • Westbound Highway 7 at the Highway 7-Yonge Connecting Road
    • Westbound Highway 7 at the Highway 7-Bathurst Connecting Road
    • Northbound Bathurst at the Highway 7-Bathurst Connecting Road
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be onsite to help direct traffic as required.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise, vibration and dust from equipment and trucks.
  • Wherever possible, sidewalks and bus stops will remain open. If a bus stop or sidewalk is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop or sidewalk.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible. Check twitter.com/vivanext for last-minute updates.
