what you need to know:

  • Riders can now board Viva in the centre rapidway at any of the new vivastations: on Centre Street the new stations are Dufferin Street, Taiga Drive and Disera-Promenade, and on Bathurst the new station is Atkinson Avenue.
  • To the east, this new rapidway connects to Richmond Hill Centre Terminal along Highway 7, which includes the Bathurst & Highway 7 vivastation and shared-use path [opened in September 2019].
  • To the west, this new rapidway connects to the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, the TTC Line 1 subway and SmartCentres Place Bus Terminal, as well as the rapidway on Highway 7 West from Bowes Road to Edgeley Boulevard [opened in December 2017].
  • PLUS, it connects to the rapidway along Highway 7 West from Edgeley Boulevard in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre to Bruce St. [opened in November 2019].
  • Dedicated bus lanes, wider sidewalks, new raised bike lanes, upgraded utility infrastructure and four new vivastations, this rapidway project brings convenience and adds beauty to the area.
  • Motorists should be aware that the red "BUS ONLY" lanes are rapidway lanes intended only for Viva buses and emergency vehicles – an added benefit that the rapidways bring to each community – saving valuable time when it's truly needed.
  • When getting to and from everywhere is this easy, rapidways attract people to shop, dine, work and live in the area.
  • During the first few days of service in the rapidway lanes, YRT and vivaNext staff will be at the vivastation platforms to assist customers and answer questions.

When getting to and from everywhere is this easy, it attracts people to shop, dine, work and live here. It's a transit-inclusive environment that connects people and places, while helping to support growth.
