what you need to know:

  • This week, crews will be preparing for temporary pole and wire installation starting next week at the Highway 7 & Bathurst St. connector road.
  • Crews will install temporary traffic poles at each corner of the intersection and will then string up traffic signals and attach pedestrian signals.
  • There will be short-term curb lane closures around the work areas as crews conduct this work, including on eastbound and westbound Highway 7.
  • Additionally, one southbound lane on the connector road will be closed around the work area.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be on site to direct traffic as required.
  • Where possible, sidewalks will remain open. Where sidewalks are affected, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest available option.
  • After the temporary poles and signals have been installed, the traffic signals will be activated at a later date. Details to be provided.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible.

Update: Due to the weather expected tomorrow, please note that the hydro pole installation work that was scheduled for tomorrow has been re-scheduled for Friday, April 7. Follow us on Twitter @vivanext for more updates!
