CentreMap

work dates*: Wednesday, April 5 to Friday, April 7
work hours*: 9am–4pm

what you need to know:

  • On Wednesday, crews will install new hydro poles along Bathurst St. between North Park Rd. and Centre St. [Map 1].
  • On Friday, crews will install new hydro poles along Bathurst St. between Centre and Promenade Circle [Map 2].
  • Southbound Bathurst will be reduced to one lane around the work areas.
  • Driveways may be temporarily disrupted.
  • As each new pole is hoisted up and over existing wires and placed on its foundation, traffic in all directions will be stopped for up to 10-15 minutes at a time.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be on site to direct traffic as required.
  • For the next two weeks, the southbound bus stop on Bathurst just north of Centre will be temporarily relocated to North Park. Please watch for directional signs.
  • Sidewalks will remain open wherever possible. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk.
  • Over the next two to three weeks, crews will be working on framing the poles and stringing the lines in this area. To accommodate this work, short-term curb lane closures may be required.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise from equipment and trucks.
  • Some weekend and overnight work may be required. Check the overnight page on vivanext.com for updates.
  • Check out this video [of the vivaNext project on Yonge Street] for a look at how it’s done.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible.

We understand that construction can be disruptive and we thank you in advance for your patience during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
