Starting on Monday, crews will begin the water main replacement on Centre Street. The work will start at the south-west corner of Dufferin Street and Centre. Please see below for further details.

what you need to know:
- The first section of water main installation will begin on the south-west corner of Dufferin and Centre. Crews will then move to the north-east corner of Dufferin and Centre and move eastward along the north side of Centre. Next, crews will move to the south side of Centre and head eastward to New Westminster.
- Curb lane closures will be required around work areas when crews are excavating, installing pipe, backfilling and other related activities.
- At times, crews will be required to move back and forth throughout the corridor to complete different tasks associated with the overall work.
- Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be onsite, as required.
- Sidewalks will remain open wherever possible. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signage will be onsite to help guide pedestrians.
- Bus stops may be temporarily relocated as work progresses. Directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open stop.
- Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise, dust and vibration from equipment and trucks.
- There may be noise prior to 7am as crews assemble and arrange the equipment they require.
*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible.
