This weekend, northbound Bathurst Street will be reduced to one lane, between Centre and the Highway 7 connector ramp, as crews work on the water main. There will also be a lane reduction on westbound Flamingo Road at Bathurst Street. In addition, starting Monday, crews will begin the next segment of the new gas main installation on the north side of Centre Street from New Westminster Drive to Concord Road.   • Northbound Bathurst Street will be reduced to one lane between Centre and the Highway 7 connector ramp.
  • The westbound Flamingo Rd. right turn lane onto Bathurst will be closed for water main work on the northeast corner.
  • Sidewalks will remain open wherever possible. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signage will be onsite to help guide pedestrians.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise, dust and vibration from equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

work hours*: 7am–7pm

  • The gas main will be installed using directional drilling, a tunneling technique that minimizes disruption and excavation. Trenches will also be used in select areas where needed.
  • This work will require curb lane closures around the work areas.
  • Sidewalks will remain open wherever possible. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signage will be onsite to help guide pedestrians.
  • Bus stops may be temporarily relocated as work progresses. Directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open stop.
  • Access will be maintained to properties and businesses.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise, dust and vibration from equipment and trucks.
  • There may be noise prior to 7am as crews assemble and arrange the equipment they require.
  • Some overnight and/or weekend work may be required.
  • Towards the end of the work, crews will connect gas services to the new gas main and restore the work area. If there are planned service interruptions, advance notice will be given to impacted businesses and/or residences.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible. When work progresses according to schedule, crews typically work from 7am–5pm. If additional time is required, crews will work until 7pm unless otherwise noted.
