tower relocation at Centre and Dufferin Streets

November 4, 2016

On Saturday, crews will be relocating the tower currently on the northwest corner of Centre Street and Dufferin Street to allow for road widening and utility work. Please see below for details on this work:

what you need to know:

work dates*: Saturday, Nov. 5
work hours*: 7am–7pm

  • Westbound traffic on Centre St. will be reduced to one lane around the intersection of Dufferin and Centre Streets to accommodate the vehicles and equipment needed to relocate the tower.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be onsite, as required.
  • Sidewalks will remain open wherever possible. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signage will be onsite to help guide pedestrians.
  • Bus stops may be temporarily relocated as work progresses. Directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open stop.
  • There will be construction-related noise from equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
  • Please keep in mind that with the upcoming time change it will get darker sooner. Please be mindful of pedestrians and workers throughout the construction zone.
