For the next several weeks, crews are continuing to install temporary traffic poles and signals at the Centre Street intersections between Disera Dr./North Promenade and Dufferin St., beginning at the Centre and Disera Dr. intersection today. Please see below for further details on this work.
work dates*: Friday, Oct. 7 to Friday, Nov. 25
work hours*: 7am–5pm
what you need to know:
- Crews will install temporary traffic poles and attach traffic and pedestrian signals at each corner of the intersections along Centre Street from Disera Dr./North Promenade to Dufferin St., including Disera Dr./North Promenade, New Westminster Dr., the RioCan Centre, Vaughan Blvd./Carl Tennen St., Concord Rd./Wade Gate, and Dufferin St.
- There will be short-term lane closures around the work areas as crews install the temporary traffic poles and signals.
- Traffic will continue through the intersection, including left-turns and right-turns.
- Wherever possible, sidewalks and bus stops will remain open. If a bus stop or sidewalk is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop or sidewalk.
- Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be on site as required.
- Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise and vibration around the work area from equipment and trucks.
- After the temporary poles and signals have been installed at all of the intersections, the traffic signals will be activated at a later date.
- Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We’ll provide advance notice whenever possible.
