evening lane reduction on Bathurst for utility daylighting

July 13, 2016

This evening, one northbound curb lane will be closed on Bathurst Street between Beverley Glen Boulevard to just north of Atkinson Avenue as crews continue utility daylighting for water main replacement work. See below for details.

work dates*: Wednesday, July 13
work hours*: 6:30pm–10pm

  • Tonight, crews will be utility daylighting—which means exposing underground utilities—along the east side of Bathurst.
  • To accommodate this work, northbound Bathurst will be reduced to one lane between Beverley Glen to just north of Atkinson.
  • First, a hydrovac truck will be used to expose the utilities so that they can be monitored during drilling.
  • Next, concrete slabs will be poured to protect the utilities during the drilling operation.
  • At the end of the day, the work areas will be plated. Please watch for bumps.
  • Due to the nature of this work, at times, there will be construction-related noise from equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We’ll provide advance notice whenever possible.
