sidewalk work on Davis Drive

Over the next several months, crews will be completing sidewalks and planting trees and shrubs along with other work activities. Crews will begin removing temporary asphalt from two areas along Davis Drive, followed by pouring of new permanent concrete sidewalk and installing paver stones.

Crews will be working on the south side of Davis from west of the Tannery intersection to Charles Street, and from Alexander Road / Huron Heights Drive to the Home Hardware entrance.

work dates*: Friday, April 15 to Friday, April 29
work hours*: 7am-7pm

what you need to know:

  • Map 1
    • The eastbound curb lane will be closed for the duration of the work from west of the Tannery intersection to Charles.
    • The south sidewalk will remain open during this work. A flagperson will be onsite to assist pedestrians around the work area.
    • Driveway access to businesses in the area will be maintained.
  • Map 2
    • The eastbound curb lane will be closed for the duration of the work from just west of Alexander / Huron Heights to west of Home Hardware [800 Davis].
    • The south sidewalk on Davis will be closed in the work area. Pedestrians will need to cross to the north side of Davis at Alexander / Huron Heights or at Ashton Road / Carlson Drive.
    • Pedestrian access will be maintained to businesses in the area.
    • A temporary eastbound YRT bus stop will be installed east of Home Hardware for the duration of this work.
  • Noise, dust and intermittent vibrations are associated with this work.

* Please note: as with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather. We’ll provide advance notice whenever possible.
