paving activities along Davis Drive: September 2-4

September 1, 2015

Paving continues along the Davis Drive corridor. Crews will be paving the centre lane rapidway through two intersections and a longer stretch of curbside paving.

intersection paving

Work dates: Wednesday, September 2 – Thursday, September 3*
Work hours: 7am-7pm
Work area: Davis rapidway, at the intersections of Longford Drive and Lorne Avenue

What you need to know:

  • Intersections at Longford and Lorne will be closed intermittently to north and southbound traffic as crews pave through each intersection.
  • During the intermittent intersection closures:
    • Drivers will be unable to make left turns and will need to proceed to the next intersection and make a u-turn to get to their destination. Please follow posted signs.
    • North and southbound drivers on Longford/Parkside and Lorne will have to make a right turn on Davis, proceed to the next intersection, make a u-turn, and then continue on to their destination.
  • Paid duty police officers will follow the paving crews to manage traffic at impacted intersections.
  • To prepare, crews may need to set up and drop off materials and machinery outside of regular work hours [i.e. overnight]. Please expect construction-related noise.
  • Pedestrians will not be able to use north/south crosswalks at closed intersections. Paid duty police officers will direct pedestrians to the next intersection to cross to the opposite side of Davis.
