Please read the following update for construction activities happening on Davis Drive the week of August 24. Inclement weather has delayed some of the scheduled paving and overnight work.
overnight work
To help ease the flow of traffic along Davis Drive, left-turn traffic sensors will be installed at the intersections of Yonge Street, George Street and Barbara Road. The sensors will be used to prioritize the advanced green arrow for motorists to make left or u-turns through the intersections. Please refer to our previous notification for details.
paving continues
Paving will continue this weekend and next week along the corridor. Intermittent intersection closures for north/south drivers are expected as crews pave the rapidway centre lanes.
road closure at Huron Heights Drive: Aug 24-28
Huron Heights Drive will close just north of Davis as crews perform road work.
During road closures, detour signs will be in place to guide drivers around the closure. Please watch for these signs as they will provide the most up-to-date information. Click here to check the status of ongoing and upcoming road closures, as dates may change and closures could be extended.
YRT bus stop #2588 on the northeast corner of Huron Heights and Davis will be shifted east for the duration of the closure.
correction
Please be advised that there was an error in our Construction Bulletin regarding the work at the Seniors’ Meeting Place [474 Davis]. In the original communication, we noted that the canopy over the original entryway would be relocated to the west entrance. The canopy will not be relocated and will remain in its current location at the front entrance. The correct version of the Construction Bulletin can be found here.
