traffic changes on Davis Drive from Tannery to Southlake Regional Health Centre: August 21

August 19, 2015

Rapidway construction continues to progress along Davis Drive. This week crews will be shifting traffic into its final configuration between the Tannery intersection and Southlake Region Health Centre. Once the shift is complete, permanent changes to traffic movements will come into effect for motorists as of August 21. Please pay close attention to the signs in place at each intersection to navigate the changes safely.

Work date*: August 21
Work times*: 7am-7pm

What you need to know:

  • Motorists will only be able to turn right into and out of all side streets and driveways in this area.
  • After the traffic shift, the temporary cut-through lanes at Bolton Avenue and 567 Davis will be removed as U-turns are introduced at Prospect Street/Lundy’s Lane for both east and westbound Davis traffic.
  • Paid duty officers will be onsite to manage traffic flow.
  • Please expect traffic delays and construction-related noise during this operation.

How to access businesses and side streets:

  • Left-turns into Bolton Avenue will no longer be possible. Motorists will only be able to make a right-out and a right-in from Davis. This is a permanent condition.
  • Eastbound traffic wishing to enter Bolton Avenue, Medical Arts Building or properties on the north side between 603-665A Davis, will use the temporary cut-through lane at 665A Davis to make a U-turn.
  • Eastbound traffic wishing to enter Bayview Parkway, Dixon Medical Centre or 567 Davis, will now proceed to Prospect Street/Lundy’s Lane and make a U-turn.
  • Westbound access to Southlake Regional Health Centre’s Davis entrance will be possible by making a U-turn at Prospect Street.
  • To access Charles Street, Taylor Funeral Home [524 Davis] or the 540 Davis plaza, westbound motorists will continue to make a U-turn at the Tannery intersection.
  • Pedestrian access to businesses will be maintained. Please follow the posted signs to guide you to your destination.

Final traffic configuration on Davis:

  • Drivers can only turn left at a traffic light when the left-turn arrow is illuminated.
  • Unless signed otherwise, motorists will be able to make U-turns at signalized intersections from the dedicated left-turn lane. U-turns will be possible when the left-turn traffic signal is illuminated.
  • Visit our vivaNext YouTube channel and watch the “Rapidway Left Turns” video to see how traffic on Davis will move in the final configuration.
