The centre rapidways and pedestrian walkways continue to take shape this summer as we make significant progress transforming Davis Drive into a vibrant place for businesses and residents alike. Please see below for information on Davis construction activities taking place in several locations along the corridor in the coming weeks.
sidewalk closure [Bolton Avenue to Lundy’s Lane]
To accommodate sidewalk and boulevard work in the area, crews will close the sidewalk in front of the Medical Arts Building on the north side of Davis Drive between Bolton Avenue and Lundy’s Lane for approximately four weeks.
Work dates and hours: July 27 – Fall 2015* from 7am-7pm [some weekend work may be required]
Work area: North side of Davis, between Bolton Avenue and Lundy’s Lane
What you need to know:
- To access the Medical Arts Building, pedestrians can walk on the south side of Davis, cross the road at Lundy’s Lane, and walk up Lundy’s to the parking lot entrance.
- To access Bolton, pedestrians can walk east along the south sidewalk on Davis, cross to the north side of Davis at Roxborough Road and walk west on the north sidewalk to Bolton.
preparing Davis for paving [Roxborough Road to Alexander Road]
Crews have made good progress on the road reconstruction between Roxoborough and Alexander and will continue to install new curbs. Once complete, the road crew will pave the area before moving to the north side of Davis between Patterson and Huron Heights. Sidewalk and boulevard work on the south side will follow. Kindly remember that motorists and pedestrians are not permitted in work zones. For everyone’s safety, please respect all construction signs and barriers.
traffic shift between Longford and Prospect complete
Crews have shifted traffic to its final condition between Longford and Prospect. Left-turns into Vincent Street, Niagara Street and 567 Davis Drive are temporarily being maintained as crews get ready to move traffic to the curb lane between Niagara and Main. As early as Monday, crews will start to excavate the middle of the road to build the centre bus lanes and medians between Barbara Road and Lundy’s Lane/Prospect Street.
