Davis Drive paving: various locations from Barbara Road to west of Charles Street, May 12 to 15

This week, crews will pave three sections along Davis Drive in the areas that have been widened. Further details are provided below.

location: Barbara Road to Longford Drive and a portion of Longford [see map]

Paving dates: Tuesday, May 12 and Wednesday, May 13*
Paving hours: 7 am – 7 pm

What you need to know:

  • A small portion of Longford at Davis will be closed during paving. Please follow detour signs posted in the community that will guide you around the closure.
  • Davis Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Barbara to Longford during paving.
  • Sidewalks on the north side of Davis will be closed. Please use the south sidewalk.
  • The east sidewalk on Longford Drive will be open during paving. The west sidewalk will remain closed.

Accessing Businesses:

  • Access to Goodyear Mars Tire [135 Davis Drive] will be maintained through the Barbara Road entrance. The Davis Drive entrance will be intermittently closed as paving is taking place.
  • Access to Tim Hortons [191 Davis Drive] will be maintained through the Davis Drive entrance. During paving, vehicles may enter and exit using the Davis driveway. The Longford entrance to Tim Hortons will be closed during this operation.

    location: GO rail track to west of Charles Street, excluding Keith Bridge [see map]

    Paving dates: Wednesday, May 13 to Friday, May 15*
    Paving hours: 7 am – 7 pm

    Paving locations:

    • The north and south sides of Davis, from the GO rail track to west of Keith Bridge.
    • Entrances to the Tannery [465 Davis Drive] and the Seniors’ Meeting Place [474 Davis Drive]/Newmarket Chamber of Commerce [470 Davis Drive].
    • The south side of Davis, from east of Keith Bridge to west of Charles Street.

    What you need to know and how to access businesses:

    • Access to the Seniors’ Meeting Place, the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce and the Tannery Mall [465 Davis Drive] will be intermittently disrupted as crews pave the driveways.
    • Paving around the Tannery will begin at 8:30am, after peak commuting hours.
    • Sidewalk access around the Tannery will be shifted in the area as paving is taking place. Please follow pedestrian signs to guide you to your destination.
    • The west entrance to Taylor Funeral Home [524 Davis Drive] will be closed. Access will be maintained through the east driveway.
    • Police officers will be onsite to direct and manage traffic flow.
