road widening and storm work on davis drive

October 29, 2014

Over the next several weeks, there will be multiple work activities on the south side of Davis Drive from east of Parkside Drive/Longford Drive to east of Niagara Street. Crews will be installing storm sewer, widening the road, and will later install new curbs and pave the base-layer of asphalt. Please see below for further details.

Work hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am — 7:00pm.
At times weekend and night work may be required*

How to access businesses during this work [see map]:

  • Businesses are open
  • When accessing 350 Davis Drive during this work, vehicles may enter off of Niagara Street or park in the lot west of the building
  • Driveways will be narrowed and access may be intermittently disrupted when crews are working in the area. Please follow directional signs
  • The sidewalk on the south side of Davis [east of Parkside to east of Niagara] will be temporarily closed. Please use the sidewalk on the north side of Davis

What else you need to know:

  • There will be intermittent closures of Niagara Street and Lorne Avenue as crews install storm sewer and widen across the road
  • There will be increased truck activity in the area
  • Eastbound bus stops in the area will be relocated outside of the construction zone as work progresses

Please remember to reduce your speed through construction zones and be mindful of traffic shifts and signs that will help guide you along your way. Always drive with care and give yourself extra time to get to your destination safely. If you’re walking, please use dedicated crosswalks and stay aware of your surroundings.
