Crews have widened the road on the north side of Davis Drive from Hill Street to Longford Drive and will now begin base-layer paving. Additional paving activities will be completed in other sections over the next year, prior to the rapidway opening at the end of 2015. Please see paving details for the Hill to Longford section below:
When: Friday, June 27 from 7:00am — 6:00pm*
what you need to know:
- Traffic lanes on Davis will be shifted to the south and will continue to be reduced to one lane in each direction.
- At times, access to driveways will be temporarily disrupted. Please follow directional signs to access businesses on the north.
- If the entrance to 251-259 Davis or Hill Street is temporarily blocked, please park on the east side of Lorne Avenue.
- On-street parking will also be available on the west side of Hill Street between the apartment buildings.
- Traffic control personnel will be onsite to guide pedestrians and drivers. Where required, police officers will direct and manage traffic flow.
- There will be increased truck activity around the work areas. Please pay close attention when driving or walking.
- For pedestrians crossing Davis at Longford, please use the west crosswalk. The east crosswalk will be closed.
- One crosswalk at Lorne Avenue will remain open. Please follow directional signs to cross to the north or south side of Davis.
- This work is weather-dependent and will have noise and traffic impacts.
