lane reductions on Davis from Main to the Tannery

May 09, 2014

Over the next several months there will be multiple work activities on Davis Drive, just east of Main Street around the CN Rail tracks, the Tannery, Seniors’ Meeting Place and the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce. To accommodate these operations, traffic lanes will be shifted and reduced on Davis from Main Street to the Tannery Mall. Please see below for further details.

traffic delays & impacts [see map]:

  • Davis Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Main Street to the Tannery starting May 12. Please expect major traffic delays in this area, especially during GO Train commuting times [6:00-8:00am & 5:00-7:00pm]
  • Dedicated left-turn lanes will be maintained at the Tannery Mall intersection
  • For those entering and exiting the Tannery, please adjust your travel-times accordingly and give yourself extra time to get to your destination
  • This is the final lane reduction on Davis. For the duration of rapidway construction, Davis will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Yonge Street to Roxborough Road. Where possible, an emergency services/left-turn lane will be provided
  • Please remember to reduce your speed through construction zones and yield to approaching emergency vehicles
  • Pedestrians please follow directional signs that will guide you to open sidewalks. One sidewalk will be maintained on the north or south side of Davis at all times
