Keith Bridge lane shift

As construction continues and final preparations are made for work on the north side of the Keith Bridge, traffic lanes on Davis Drive from Superior Street to Prospect Street will shift to the south side of the bridge and be reduced to three lanes – two lanes eastbound and one westbound. [see map]

Overnight line painting for the traffic lane shift

Date: Monday, November 19 – 7pm – 6am (overnight)

Work description and lane closures

To prepare for the new lane configuration, crews will pave and paint
the road through a series of lane closures between Superior Street and
Prospect Street. During this work, two-way traffic on Davis Drive will
always be maintained.

What you need to know

The Keith Bridge traffic shift will be in place for approximately one year, and during this time:

  • The sidewalk on the north side of Davis Drive between Superior Street and Prospect Street will be closed. When crossing to the south sidewalk, please use a signalized intersection.
  • The eastern crosswalk at the Tannery / Seniors’ Meeting Place intersection
    will be closed. Please use the open western crosswalk. (see map)
  • Bus stops in front of the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce and the Tannery have been relocated slightly west.
  • The front parking lot at the Seniors’ Meeting Place is closed. Parking is available at the rear.

Tom Taylor Trail:
Please note that the trail will now only cross Davis Drive at the intersection’s western crosswalk. Pedestrians and cyclists, please use caution and follow detour signs.
