Demolition program begins on Davis Drive

As part of the project to improve Davis Drive and build the vivaNext rapidways,twenty-one buildings were acquired and will be removed in preparation forconstruction.

Our environmentally-responsible demolition program will ensure that at least85% of the materials recovered from these buildings will be reused and/orrecycled, with less than 15% going to landfill.

What building is being demolished?

The building at 496 Davis Drive will be the first to be removed.

Additional demolitions will take place in August and September, as details are available advance notification will be provided.

When will it start?

Site preparation has begun and demolition will occur the week of August 9, 2010.

How long will the demolition and clean up take?

The actual demolition of the building will take a few days. The overall schedule to complete building removal and site clean up is 35 days. During this time, the property will be fenced and all activities will be fully monitored and supervised.

Work will be done in accordance with all municipal and regional bylaws and will meet all health, ecological and regulatory requirements.
